Clipper Shipping Base4Lasers

Dowding Industries utilizes 8, 3-Axis, Laser cutting centers. Our lasers have bed sizes up to 72” X 144” and cutting speeds up to 70 inches per minute. Dowding Industries can cut up to 1” thick cold rolled steel and ½” aluminum plate. 

Dowding Industries can meet your needs from one off custom parts, one time runs, and service parts production. We can use your material or can include it in our quote.

Our customers find this service to be a cost-effective way to run service orders mitigating the need for large coil orders and costly tooling investments.

Assembly

Dowding Industries can also support your value-added needs with spot, robotic and manual weld
centers. We can also insert fasteners and provide complete assembly. We can manage the
build and inventory for you or use customer supplied components.

Machining and Turning
Welding

Dowding Industries of Iowa can meet your needs for machining and turning. We have vertical machining capabilities with table capacities up to 5,000 pounds and spindle speeds up 6,000 RPM. We also provide CNC turning capabilites up to 24” in diameter with spindle speeds up to 3400 RPM.

Metal Fabrications and Welded Assemblies

Dowding Industries can accommodate all of your fabrication needs. We can brake press parts up to 143 tons with 10’ beds. We also offer laser cutting, welding, double disk grinding and roll forming.

In our laser department we have 8 state of the art machines and can cut up to 1” mild steel at 22” per minute with bed sizes up 72” X 144.”

Dowding Industries also has the capability to extend the value chain for its customer base with mig, robotic, and spot welding capabilities.

Dowding Industries utilizes a 914.4mm (36.00") grinding wheel and grinds components that are 1219.2mm (48.00") long. The technical solution that Dowding Industries provided this off highway truck manufacturer solved numerous quality problems for this tightly toleranced engine application. We also offer roll forming on our Imcar 8” wide roll former.
